Harvest and some garden humor

Since frost is predicted tonight, I harvested my Lebanese squash. I was hoping they would get big enough to stuff, as is customary for these squash, but the largest one is 4″ (those are 4″ tiles in the picture). Oh well, sautéed squash will be good.

It will be time to plant bulbs starting in a few weeks, and my bulb order arrived last week, so I am plotting and planning. Meanwhile, I found a fun new website promoting bulbs – Bulbs: Dig, Drop, Done. Along with information about planting bulbs, there are three fun characters who each have their own style of bulb planting; watch their videos online. In addition to promoting bulbs, this campaign is a great example of taking a rather mundane topic and infusing it with marketing personality and humor. So whether or not you intend to plant bulbs, check out the bulb ladies. And if you are wondering, I do not color-code my bulb planting to my children, like Marcy, the super mom.
