Urban Bouquets

Pike Place Market in Seattle is the ultimate bouquet destination for urban flower lovers. While the fish markets at Pike Place get lots of tourist attention, the flowers this time of year are incredible. Lilies, dahlias and sunflowers in a rainbow of colors were arranged into buckets of bouquets priced from $5 to $15. A $10 bouquet was large and full of flowers. Even though we were leaving town the day after we visited Pike Place, I bought a bouquet for my sister to grace the dinner table. The pictures show the finished products as well as raw materials. Of course, in addition to flowers, there are vegetables, fruit, fish, spices, breads and more at the market. While it is a tourist attraction, it is also the go-to place for a fresh feast for local residents.
